Alexandre Dumas (1802 - 1870) - literatūros klasikas iš Prancūzijos. Žymiausias jo kūrinys sulaukęs didžiulio pasisekimo visame pasaulyje: "Trys muškietininkai".

Būdamas paauglys, vaikinas vieną dieną pamatė Šekspyro sukurtą "Hamletą", kuris jį palietė iki sielos gelmių bei paskatino patį kurti pjeses, kurios, deja, didelio pasisekimo nesulaukė.

Sėkmė atėjo tada, kai rašytojas pradėjo rašyti romanus, įtraukiančius, įdomaus siužeto, su būriu ryškių veikėjų. Alexandre Dumas taip pat buvo laikomas pačiu produktyviausiu rašytoju pasaulyje, padedamas bendraautorių jis parašė 600 knygų.

Buvo didelis švaistūnas, uždirbtus pinigus išleisdavo pirkdamas prabangius rūbus, rengdamas pokylius, eidamas į teatrą ir žinoma, moterims. Mirė 1870 m., neturėdamas nė cento kišenėje.
