What data we collect and how we collect it

How and what data we collect

  • Automatically generated technical data. Each time you use the website, mobile app, or another service, our servers log “log data” sent by your browser/app: IP address, page visited, referrer URL, date/time, browser type and version. These data are not used to identify visitors, are not shared, and are stored only for diagnostics, statistics, and protection against unlawful or harmful use of the e-store.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. Help make browsing more convenient, learn about user behavior on bookbook.eu, analyze trends, present similar offers, and improve the site and our service. You can choose whether to accept cookies; if you do not agree, delete existing cookies and set your browser to block them. Learn more in our Cookie Policy.
  • Data you provide when purchasing. First name, last name, phone number, address, email address, purchase information (purchase date, item price, quantity, order status flag, IP address, discount code, order date, item title, item code), payment information, and delivery details (address and phone number). If you buy for another person, we collect their delivery and contact details.
  • Data from surveys, contests, and games. First name, last name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, favorite literature genre, preferred product category (cart), plus data/documents confirming eligibility and fulfillment of promotion conditions (e.g., receipt date/number), insofar as related to participation.

  • E-books (VAT purposes). To determine the buyer’s country, we additionally collect and store the IP address, country (determined from IP), payer’s country, and phone number.
  • Customer support interactions. When you contact support, we collect your contact details (name, email, phone) and correspondence history (via email, phone, contact forms, integrated messaging, Facebook, or in person).
  • CCTV video data. Captured when you visit our physical bookbook.eu bookstore.

How long we retain data

  • E-commerce data: processed/stored for 2 years from your last site visit or purchase date.
  • VAT invoices & related personal data: stored for 10 years.
  • Direct marketing data (with consent): kept until you withdraw consent via the unsubscribe link or by emailing [email protected].
  • Customer support & electronic communications: processed/stored for 1 year from receipt of consent to process personal data.
  • Promotions (games/quizzes/contests): stored for 2 months after results/winners are announced; winner data for 10 years.
  • Diagnostics: stored until the issue is resolved, but no longer than 180 days.

After the above retention periods expire, personal data are deleted automatically or by an authorized bookbook.eu employee.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • know which data recipients your personal data have been/are being disclosed to over the past 1 year;
  • request correction of incorrect, incomplete, or inaccurate data;
  • request that we stop processing your collected personal data.

Any unlawful use of any content, mark, or equipment may violate the Intellectual Property Laws.

BALTO trader UAB grants no express or implied transfer of rights in the program, marks, content, or copyrights. You may not, in any way or by any means and without territorial limitation, copy, publish, transmit, modify, adapt, create derivative works, rent, lend, sell, transfer, distribute, license, reverse-engineer, or otherwise alter the content, marks, or equipment. You acknowledge and do not dispute that ownership and copyright in the content, marks, and program belong to BALTO trader UAB. Nothing herein shall be construed as granting you any authors’ or ownership rights in the program, content, or marks without the express written permission of BALTO trader UAB.
