Description

Essay from the year 2015 in the subject Politics - International Politics - General and Theories, grade: 65, Oxford University (Department of International Development), language: English, abstract: The Cuban Missile Crisis is accepted in scholarship as one of - if not the - defining moment of the Cold War. Many studies have been published on the strategic dimensions of and diplomatic conduct during the crisis. However, as much as a military and diplomatic crisis, the situation was politically charged as well. This essay argues that in order to better understand the crisis, both Cuba as a political entity as well as domestic American politics need to be pushed to the foreground.
