Description

Words To Live By is a collection of inspirational essays produced by the author over several years, but closely edited for this book. The purpose of this volume is to inspire, encourage and invigorate believers in Christ. The author has endeavored to provide spiritual nourishment for those who hunger for meaning in a world which has largely lost its way. The title reflects a comment made by a new Christian who had read some of the essays included here. Many chapters of this work are based upon incidents from the author's personal life. His experience as a long-term foreign missionary, and as a university professor for thirty years, plus his extensive travels abroad have provided fodder for the stories recounted in this volume. Every chapter centers on incidents or events recounted in the Bible, and the reader will be introduced to many wonderful, but often overlooked, Bible stories. The author received the A.A. Degree from Freed-Hardeman College (1958), the B.A. Degree from Harding College (1960), the M.A. in French (1977) and the Ph.D in Comparative Literature (1987) from The University of Southern Mississippi. He taught college classes for thirty years, the last twenty of which at Freed-Hardeman University. Other books by the author: The Righteousness of God (Xulon Press, 2013) The Apocalypse: A Revelation of Jesus Christ (Xulon Press, 2015) Commentary on The Prophecy of Daniel (World Evangelism Publications, 2017).
