This began as more or less a routine investigation into possible insurance fraud by certain employers in the area. However during his enquiries he encounters exploitation of workers, corruption and the murder of at least one worker. The local work force was mostly made up of workers of mixed French and Indian origins who mostly resided in a neighbouring town called Penetang. The investigation then leads him into International Arms and Drug deals, the contraband being flown into Canada by seaplane from the USA by an organised crime syndicate operating out of Montreal. The organisation had strong connections with terrorist groups throughout the world but most of the contraband ended up in the hands of the Irish Republican Army and the Ulster defence Force. Escaped arrest and returned to his hometown Hawick, situated in the Scottish Borders. The Canadian Mounted Police special investigation unit were determined to bring him back onto Canadian soil by any means possible within or out with the Scottish or International legal processes.
