Squier (1911), The Buccaneers (1912), and Whistler Stories (1913). Whistler Stories is a collection of anecdotes and stories about James McNeill Whistler (1834-1903) the famous painter. He was a leading proponent of the credo "art for art's sake". His famous signature for his paintings was in the shape of a stylized butterfly possessing a long stinger for a tail. His most famous painting is the iconic Whistler's Mother.
