About the Author

Mary Leah is the sixth child born to James E. and Goldie M. Suther. She began her storytelling at an early age, and in the sixth grade, Mary wrote her first poem called "I Wish I Were A Princess." In junior high, she read a poem written by a classmate and knew she could write one, which she called "When I Fall in Love." In her early in her college years, she wrote letters to her mama which held "Mother's Day" poetry. Upon her mama's death years later, these poems were returned to her.

Later in life she began penning her stories in notebooks. In 1992, after returning to college, she took a creative writing course to see if she could really write or if she was wasting her time. Her professor wrote her a note on one of her stories telling her she had a real talent for spinning a tale.

Mary is a retired counselor, baker of specialty cakes, seamstress, loves to sing, a good cook, a diehard OU football fan, artist, and crafter, just to name some of her talents. After fifty-five years of marriage, her best friend and husband left her a widow. They raised two daughters and one son. They are grandparents to seven grandchildren aging from six years to twenty-five years. All of them are loved dearly.
