Description
Jesus of Nazareth, the alleged "Christ" of God. However he is interpreted, he is by far the most significant, influential, and .. controversial .. person of human history. Here read, harmonized into a single narrative, the eyewitness accounts of his ministry and career as documented by the gospel writers Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. This instrument is a fresh translation of the common Greek of the first century. Hopefully, a more accurate expression in current American usage of the English language is achieved. The compilers of this instrument, Michael J. Sullivan and Gordon W. Smith, have specialized for some twenty years in the gospels and related matters. We believe this: the first three gospels copied from each other, and/or used an as yet undiscovered common source. But each gospel relates particular information that the other two omit. Moreover, John contributes more details which expand on those given by the first three. Therefore, a harmonization into a single story is achievable, although absolute perfection is not expected.
