The journey fulfilled a lifelong dream of driving cross country and exploring familiar landmarks, as well as some out-of-theway stops along the trail. Kathy was the Academic Department Manager for Anthropology Brown University. She retired from her 28-year career at Brown in 2014. Larry was Chief of Program Development for communications projects at the Rhode Island Division of Elderly Affairs. He wrote the Taking Charge columns for the Providence Journal and the Seniors Ask column that appeared regularly in many of the state's daily and weekly newspapers. Larry retired after 40 years of state service in 2015. When they are not travelling, they live in North Providence, Rhode Island.
