Description
This report is part of a program of research designed to assist the National Park Service units of central Washington, DC, in their efforts to manage visitor mobility, reduce the negative environmental impacts of visitor transportation, and plan for the next generation of visitor transportation services. The approach taken is a review of successful practices in visitor transportation from five case-study cities: Boston, Savannah, Orlando, Philadelphia, and London. Each city offers lessons in two overlapping areas of interest: the design and operation of narrated visitor transportation services and broader policies and strategies for managing visitor transportation and mitigating its impacts.
