John Avanzato grew up in the Bronx, New York during the turbulent times of the 1960's and 1970's and is now a physician residing upstate with his family. A lifelong dream of writing fiction came to fruition in 2014 with the publication of his first book, Hostile Hospital. He has now authored twelve full-length novels and is working on the thirteenth. His stories are loosely inspired by his life experiences as a medical doctor in combination with the rough and tumble memories of an exciting youth.
His main character, John Cesari M.D., is a man with one foot in healthcare and the other in the dark underbelly of his past. His two worlds frequently collide with seismic upheaval and he is forced to make difficult choices. Imbued with a strong sense of justice and not one to hold anything back, Cesari navigates the complex pathway of his life as only he can, and in the process brings hell on earth to those who would hurt others.
