Description
A desire to provide pastoral care and guidance in the wake of the isolation experienced during the height of the coronavirus pandemic and a love of Scripture have come together in this second collection of devotions. Similar to the first collection, Quarantining with God, these devotions were originally written for congregational members, this time during the second year of COVID, as the congregation began to emerge from the harshest days of the pandemic. This collection merges the joys and sorrows, gains and losses of post-pandemic life with the whole of Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation. Beginning in the season of Advent and proceeding through the liturgical calendar, each day's entry provides a substantial portion of Scripture, a reflection, and a prayer. It is the hope of the author, an active Lutheran pastor, that a "coming together with God" will be experienced by all who read these words, and that this coming together will encourage, strengthen, and inspire readers to continue in the life to which God has called them.
