Description
Time in the Garden is a collection of new and selected poems that best describe my life as I see it in this span of time on the planet. How I cultivated my Garden and what I've done with it frames my life experience. Many of the poems you find here previously appeared in chapbooks, privately printed in limited editions, and various workshop journals, since my retirement from a corporate career, in 1999. Song of the Bee - 2001 Sabbath Journey - 2003 Love Notes - letters I never sent - 2005 Each told my story in a significant way; the first used the garden in metaphor and were scenes drawn from family portraits; the second was intended for use as alternate readings in the Synagogue; and the last were notes I wrote to family and friends, in some cases after they were no longer here to read them. When I touch on world events and travels I have taken, the poems I chose share my sense of wonder at the beauty that I found. devorah, 2006
