Description

In this book, the author explains three principles that he discovered as a parent in trying to convey to his three sons Godly ways of living and the Christian faith. He was seeking clear and specific mechanisms to father and to shepherd them. Eventually, he was able to clarify and to articulate three critical principles: Hold on to Your Faith; "Be Not Afraid"; and Serve Well!

Based on that experience, Dr. Fuerst now strives to continue living by these principles, and to share them with others. He hopes that by offering these concepts to his readers, their lives will become more inspired, more Godly, and eventually eternal.

About the Author

Early in his life, Vatican Council II (1962-1965) provided the author with a focus for his spiritual and religious life. The spirit and energy of the Council proved to be both convincing and motivating for him as a Catholic Christian who found the need to make God's purposes, as revealed by Jesus Christ, the center of his life.

The author's mid-life coincided with the papacy of St. John Paul II (1978-2005). The pope's invitation, "Do not be afraid. Open wide the doors for Christ," and later his initiation of a New Evangelization, further secured the author's conviction to live his life for God's purposes and to share the Christian faith with others.

Dr. Fuerst has lived the majority of his life in the southwest Pennsylvania city of Washington. He and his wife, Patty, raised their three sons there, and continue to enjoy the seasons and beauty of the area. Being in the practice of Family Medicine for over forty years, he had always seen his profession as his Christian vocation and his ministry to God's people.
