"Thangai" is the pen name of Dasnavis Fernando. A native of Thangachimadam from Rameswaram Island, India. An Engineering graduate from Madras University in 1977 {CIT, Coimbatore}. He completed a course on 'International Business Management' from Kingsborough Community College, Brooklyn, NY, USA.
True to his roots, he thoroughly cherished and interestingly enjoyed fifty years of his life with traditional fisherfolk, getting to operate Deep Sea Fishing Trawlers in India and foreign waters. Focusing on Lobsters and Prawns, he has been into seafood exports worldwide for thirty years.
He was nominated as a Director in Shipping Corporation of India {SCI: A Navaratna PSU} for three years. He joined as a 'Friendly Equity Partner' with the MNC, Mitsubishi Group company, Japan. Along with his Japanese friends, he travelled for business to all continents. This is his First World Tour with Thiruvalluvar.
