Mary Dickens lives in the small city of Quanah, Texas. In her church, she serves as the church elect, Sunday school superintendent, and soon-to-be ordained deaconess. She is the mother of three wonderful children and ten grandchildren.

Mary is the eighth of ten children; she has seven brothers and two sisters. Three of her brothers are deceased, and she misses them very much. Mary was the caregiver for her mother for thirty-two years and had the opportunity to get acquainted with eight of her close senior family members.

Mary also has a degree in data processing, and she is a retired letter carrier of over twenty-nine years.
