Description
The art of linguistic mischief has helped Celia through a wealth of written work. Her inner wordsmith was energised on relocation to Appledore from a landlocked Shire. A former healthcare professional, with detours into Education and Administration, Celia is now writing for fun.
Challenged by an impassioned Yacht Master to write a poem as an objection to an offshore wind farm application, A Wind Up subsequently entertained the councillors at the Bideford Town Planning meeting. With the publication of Potholes, Celia was invited to join the poets in the light verse webzine Lighten Up Online. Charities and other organisations have used her verse; her poems have been published in several anthologies and the press, resulting in a tongue-in- cheek invitation to march on 10 Downing Street in support of the Poets' Defence League. The Shout was long listed for the Plough Prize.
This collection of poems illustrates and celebrates the sights, sounds, emotions and experiences that have been enjoyed in this inspiring and beautiful environment.
"Richly evocative of time and place, Samhain on Dartmoor transports the reader straight to an intense autumn day on the moor. This poem makes me fall in love (again) with Dartmoor, and autumn."The art of linguistic mischief has helped Celia through a wealth of written work.
