Description

365 days. One piece of terrible advice each day. Okay, so maybe all of the advice we hear each day isn't terrible, but many of the pieces of advice we share with one another are hard to interpret. Now, to be clear, this book won't help you decode someone's terrible advice but what it might do, what the writers in the School Stoppers writing group hope that it will do is make you stop and think about the different pieces of advice you hear every day. Just because we've always heard it doesn't make it correct. We have so much information available to us, and an ability to instantly communicate our thoughts. We read things and take them as expert advice when in reality anyone with a keyboard could be behind it. All this advice is given to us on how to live better, what to buy, finding our purpose, all of it given without knowing anything about the context of our lives. We take this advice and we throw it out there. Just like this book...to call the kettle black. If you get nothing else from the rambling insights of this book, we the School Stopper writers hope that it will make you stop and think about what we are teaching each other, how we take things and above all how we need to learn to treat each other with kindness, support and do proper research on the things we read.Enough about the book, lets talk about us for a second "The School Stoppers". We're a writing group, the name is odd. It sounds ominous. We can assure you it's not. In fact, while this book is a for-profit venture. We're taking part in the "American dream", we also see this as an opportunity to give back. We hope with this book we might be afforded that. We talk about that some in the book, the point is we aren't wanting to stop schools. We are against that, and against groups that are for schools. No to say we are against 'home schooling', we are for education in most of its forms. Unless you could student loans. No body likes those, stopping the increase in those might be a good thing. Although totally out of the scope of this book, but we will keep the topic in mind for any future 'multi-million' dollar book ideas we have. TLDR; We've put this book together in an attempt to get you to think, nothing more. Perhaps you won't agree with some ideas in the book. That's great, the 'agenda' (if everything has to have one nowadays) of this book is to put a smile on your face, maybe through our thoughts on the peices of advice, or at least from what we might be able to build out of this little venture.Regards and thanks for the time, The School Stoppers Writing Group
