Description

This book is the second in a series of three volumes. It concerns the histories and genealogies of the Randolph family's ancestors across Europe. There are a great many excellent books about the Randolph family, but to my knowledge most of this material has not been published in connection with the Randolph family before. Due to intermarriage between the noble families of Europe, the Randolphs are descended from families in virtually every continental European country as well as the Middle East. Volume 2 in this series is an adaptation of some parts of my earlier book, A Genealogical History of Europe. This book is organized into two sections: Section I begins with a history of the immigration of Germanic, Slavic, Mongolian and Arabic tribes across Europe. It describes formation of the states, founded by these tribes that we know today. Section II presents the histories of the leaders of these infant states and thirty-five genealogies, up to modern times. All thirty-five genealogies, covering most of Europe and parts of the Middle East, ultimately lead to Randolph family. In many cases, the Randolphs are descended from the same families by multiple lines of descent, and some show from two to seven separate lines of descent. More detailed information about many of the people in England and Scotland, who appear in the the genealogies in this volume, is provided in volume 1 of this series, which deals with England, Scotland, and America.
