Each of the four actors also assume another role-bringing Tom's mother and father, his older sister and his younger self into the action of the play. The play moves in all directions-the characters laugh, love and cry-and shout to the heavens to be heard. In the end, as the new era hits them, they have realized everything they could have by coming to Italy for the New Year.
