One of the twins becomes the King Louis XIV, while the other is confined into the prison. Aramis, one of King's guards, comes as a confessor and tells him the true story and also arranges his escape and installation as the king and replacement of the present king in prison in his place. A rebellion takes place. The rebels are crushed. The King's severity and clemency go hand in hand. Finally, D'Artagnan, the Man of Iron, dies a hero's death.
