I began to doubt the accuracy and completeness of the manifests I was using so I have spent some months cross checking several sources. It is an investigation in to the questions surrounding The Lifeboats of the Titanic. Students will use detailed "manifests" from the lifeboats to statistically determine the truth about the key questions. This would be an ideal starting point for a project about the ship and the society that built it. This has been used many times with students ranging from Year 6 to Year 11 and has always proven to be engaging, stimulating and productive.
