In this respect, they do not hesitate to freeze employee salaries in a bid to balance their budgets. However, wage freezes can also have a negative impact on employee motivation. The aim of this book is to propose a conceptual model that can lead to empirical research to explain the impact of wage freezes on employee motivation, and the consequences of this measure in terms of intent to quit and absenteeism. The present study can serve as a springboard for a review of empirical data to test the research proposals formulated.
