Victor Barros, Jr. is a native of Providence, Rhode Island. A third generation Cape Verdean-American, he was born and raised in Rhode Island. As a writer, he was inspired by the works of great African-American writers like Richard Wright, Ralph Ellison, Walter Mosley, and Guy Johnson. He is a graduate of La Salle Academy and the University of Rhode Island.
