Goldsmith is best remembered for having written the plays She Stoops to Conquer, and The Good-Natured Man, as well as the novel The Vicar of Wakefield. The Good-Natured Man is a comedy that was first performed in 1768. The play is notable for being released at the same time as Hugh Kelly's False Delicacy at the Drury Lane Theatre.
