Description

John Braemhor, a private investigator who has served as a member of the Rhodesian constabulary and later as a civil servant in South Africa, is attempting to settle into retirement running a B&B in Daraichburn in the Scottish lowlands. However, his keen sense of justice and his inordinately skilled deductive powers continually draw him back into investigative criminology as unusual situations cross his path. Along with his wife, Mary, John finds himself again tracking down elusive criminals, when his help is requested. One such request occurs when a young American couple, the MacIains, appear at John and Mary's B&B, searching for the husband's ancestors. The twosome's search leads them to Glencoe and the home of the head of the Campbell clan, where the ancient MacDonald-Campbell feud began three centuries ago. When Sir Robert Campbell is found dead--his throat slit, young Robert MacIain becomes a prime suspect. Can John and Mary help these young people solve the strange modern day mystery stemming from this centuries old feud? Or will the feud at Glencoe elude even the superior talents of John and Mary Braemhor?
