Description

An Urban Fantasy take on Irish mythology. Morgan lives in Central Illinois. Originally from Ireland, she came to the States when she was young, along with her parents, but she is also the ancient faerie goddess of war, prophecy, and death known as The Morríghan, the Phantom Queen. Her life, up to a few months ago, is nothing but a lie. One she is forced into believing. Cursed to dwell within a somewhat mortal body and plagued with memories of a life not her own, Morgan is in search of the answer to what happened to her that made her this way and how best to live in a world both familiar and filled with the magical and the strange. Although she can remember a time when exams and landing a job after college were her greatest concerns, dealing ghosts, magic, and invisible faerie housekeepers have somehow become her new normal.

In the midst of her struggle to cope with this duality, Morgan finds herself embroiled in a conflict with an ancient enemy, the Fomhóraigh, eternal rivals of the Tuatha Dé Danann, the gods of ancient Ireland. Worse still, her best friend, Jess, is thrust in the middle of ages old war.

Born from a love of mythology and storytelling, The Eye of Balor invites you into a world of faeries, monsters, and magic that exists within our own. After all, who doesn't want a little more magic in their life?

The Eye of Balor is the first in an Urban Fantasy series titled The Morríghan's Song, set in rural Illinois and inspired by many of the amazing myths of Ireland and the rest of the world.
