Tempe serves as a Parish Associate at Marys and Thomas Valley Churches, which are part of a six-church parish. Curtis serves as pastor at Richlands Presbyterian Church and West Fork. They both attended Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and New College in the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Curtis also has a D.Min. degree from Columbia Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in theology from Drew University.
