I am taken most of all with the evocations of an older Romania, which existed in myths and in the mythic visitations of hummingbird, lilac, and butterflies and grandparents. There is about the suite a quality of legend, something ancient and I believe that Severin and the translator Slim FitzGerald have succeeded in capturing the ancient mind that lies beneath the body bags, the plague beneath the Corona virus."
