Furthermore this site is also home to the Aymara God of the Sea called "Tunupa" - the local equivalent of Poseidon who "broke the ground off all round about to make it impregnable to man" and a Bolivian legend called "The Legend of the Desaguadero" tells of a city punished by the gods and sunk into the sea - the origin of Plato's story of Atlantis.
