Description
Connie is an outgoing 6th grader in an Indiana school. As a Christian, she tries to build a relationship with her classmates, including Amelia. New to Indiana, Amelia ignores Connie because she has adopted her father's negative views about people of color. But Connie doesn't understand. Miss Hilton, the teacher, sees the impasse between the two girls. In response, she gives the girls an assignment: create an historical fiction story that will be entered into a writing contest.
Through a series of events and prayers from others, Connie and Amelia create a story that changes lives.
