Published in 1916 Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar tells the story of Tarzan's return to Opar which is where the gold from the lost city of Atlantis was believed to be located. The inhabitants of Opar were still mining the gold and when two criminals came upon this area. Tarzan must come to the rescue of the people of Opar.
