Syllables on Hold, the title perhaps gives a glimpse of it, is a wide sample of the writing of Víctor M. Navarro accumulated in recent years. Poems in which he pays tribute not only to his neighborhood but to the whole, to a city inhabited by essential writers: a city both loving and perverse, magnificently replicated in Javier Córdova's illustrations.

There are no coincidences in poetry nor anything is left over, every casual encounter had to happen: Navarro is the man who from Tacubaya looks out into the world not to get out of there -the saying dictates that one should never leave the place-, but to meet once more with his favorite authors along these pages, decisively crafting every word and at the same time opening possibilities of meanings that invite the reader to give his own version of what is happening before his eyes.

Poemas en los que él rinde homenaje no sólo a su barrio sino al conjunto, a una ciudad habitada por escritores imprescindibles: una urbe a la vez amorosa y perversa magníficamente replicada en las ilustraciones de Javier Córdova.
