The youth press is one of the most promising and dynamically developing segments of modern Russian periodicals. Student publications published in different cities and for different purposes are similar in their thematic content, positive charge of publications and aspiration to do useful journalism that helps people. The monograph is dedicated to the reflection of the realities of modern student life on the pages of the youth press of Russia in the early XXI century. The carried out analysis of more than 750 materials of the newspapers "Studenci Gorod" (Saratov), "Gaudeamus" (Saint-Petersburg) and "Cactus" (Rostov-on-Don) proves that journalistic texts of these editions cover the whole spectrum of relations, which limit concept of "student life" and give the most complete image of modern students. The book also presents the author's typology of contemporary student press in Russia, which is compiled on the basis of analysis of more than 50 student newspapers and magazines. The monograph is intended for a wide range of readers who are interested in modern journalism, specifics of student press, as well as the problems of modern youth.
