One look at today's church, and it becomes obvious that our culture is influencing the church more than the church is influencing our culture. It has been said everything rises and falls on leadership. Too many in leadership, whether it's fear of being labeled irrelevant, out of touch, bigoted, intolerant or not walking in love have caved to the clamoring of this present godless culture. There is too much weight given to trends and statistics for church growth rather than prayer and getting before God for His plan.

As leaders, we cannot expect those we lead to rise above this present culture if we in the pulpits have not done so. A leader must be the example he desires to see in his church, in his leadership and/or organization. Instead of depending on trends and stats on how to grow our churches or ministries, we must allow God to confirm His word with signs and wonders. People are hungry for the power of God in demonstration. The Apostle Paul said he didn't come preaching with eloquence but rather came with the power and demonstration of the Word of God. It's time to allow the power and demonstration of God's Word back in our churches. To do that, we must get back to the undeniable truths of the Word of God. God will confirm His word not some watered down version of it.

It is time for Christian leaders in all areas of life to once again stand strong on the immovable principles of the Word of God. The tried and true principles of the Word of God will never change with the winds of what is "popular" or what's "accepted" by the majority. God honors His word. As leaders, when we become immovable in His word, we will once again become the church that influences our culture. We have a world to reach. Let's raise the standard among church leadership.
