STICHMAN STREET tells the tale of a nine-year-old American boy who lives in Small Town, USA. The story unfolds during the spring of 1945 against a World War II backdrop. On advice from Grandpa, Bobby Sealey accepts two goals: a paperboy "career" and a bike race victory. He must achieve these objectives before his tenth birthday. In spite of prankster sisters, renegade dogs, challenging neighbors, and anxious adults, Bobby perseveres. But "Life is hard-harder than a doornail!" Bobby's microscopic drama parallels the macroscopic events of the war.
