At an early age, Sid apprenticed with a doctor who also treated animals. Sid worked with him from the age of twelve until he was eighteen. This gave him a background in medicine that led to a career as a medical doctor. The book takes Sid through many adventures and some loves. Sid's many friends make him realize that one of God's greatest gifts is the friendship of others.
