Description
Images do tell the story. In this lavishly illustrated book, readers will see beautiful gardens and learn about the many successful projects achieved by The Westport Garden Club (WGC) during its seventy-five year history.
The fifty founding members of the club came together in July 1950 because of their mutual love of gardening and because they wanted to belong to the prestigious and influential Garden Club of America (GCA), which happened in June 1956. From the club's inception, members have worked tirelessly to beautify Kansas City; educate the public about conservation, horticulture, and the use of native plants; restore the landscape of historic houses, remnant prairies, and areas destroyed by flood and tornado; and partner with city park departments as well as various organizations like Kansas City Community Gardens and Powell Gardens. Besides finding peace and inspiration in their own gardens, WGC members have shared their love of gardening and inspired others to take care of our planet and make the world a better place.EXTRA 10 % discount with code: EXTRA
