In Seattle he meets up with a group of misfits who are a gentle version of the Manson gang. After crossing Canada he arrives in Minneapolis to the tune of a famous song about West Virginia, his home. Home at last in West Virginia, Junior dreams that Sarvice Mountain is being destroyed by mountain top removal strip mining for coal. He and his girl friend Peaches take on the coal industry to save their mountain. The story ends in the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum.
