We then encounter a Little Book of Horrors where the ripples roll back again from the light into darkness. Once more the eddies start small with the absurdities of "Dr. Frogenstein" - then ever expand past tales from the crypt, terrors from space, the Countess of blood, the man who sold his soul - until they reach the final crescendos in the shadows of the supernatural. At last with Imitations of the Holy the ripples emerge again into the light: traveling the dangers of the hood, the mysteries of the Far East. Then comes the final culmination in the Second Coming of the Christ.
