Description

The pathology of the rotator cuff remains a very frequent pathology explained by the ageing of the population on the one hand and by the polymorphism of its clinical pictures on the other hand. The inevitable evolution of rotator cuff lesions makes this pathology a subject of discussion due to the variety of anatomopathological lesions and the multitude of therapeutic options. The treatment of these lesions requires a complete lesion assessment based on radiological investigations in order to adapt the right therapeutic indication. The therapeutic options are varied, ranging from simple medical and rehabilitative treatment to prosthetic replacement. The objective of this work is to report on the functional results of massive rotator cuff tears in our population, treated by reverse total shoulder prosthesis by reviewing the literature and illustrating clinical cases for didactic purposes.
