Description

Jill Furmanovsky was given exclusive access to Oasis, from their wildly successful debut album Definitely Maybe in 2009, through to their final shows before the band split in 2009. She brought her camera to countless global performances, all seven album recordings, and many intimate moments in-between--from backstage antics to video shoots, rehearsals, parties, and pub outings. For the first time, discover Furmanovsky's legendary work with Oasis, featuring commentary from editor Noel Gallagher, all compiled into a single, stunning volume.

Organized chronologically, the book displays more than 800 incredible photographs and contact sheets of the band on stage, backstage, in the studio and behind-the-scenes, all carefully curated by the photographer. According to Rolling Stone, 'images by Furmanovsky capture the glorious madness of it all.' She captured the drama and excess of the band's lifestyle during the '90s, a time when, as she put it, 'they were on a comet, hanging on for dear life.' Furmanovsky documented the intense and competitive relationship between the brothers, spanning years of feuds, up until their public break up.

The book also features insightful text from Noel Gallagher, who shares personal stories and nostalgic memories about the events pictured. Following a foreword by Noel, an introduction by Furmanovsky celebrates the supreme significance of Oasis as a part of her 50+ years of photographing musicians. She reflects on her three decades of friendship with Liam and Noel, who once described her as 'one of my best friends.' An accompanying timeline charts each album and single released, tour dates, and key events in Oasis history between 1993 and 2009, and from 2024 to 2025.
