Young Irish American author and motivational speaker, Sarah Corbett Lynch (14) has written a self - affirming book called "Noodle loses Dad" exploring loss, bereavement, blended families and grief.In this her first book of the Boogawooga series Noodle lives in the Woodland forest with her family when she loses the most important person in her life - Boogawooga. Noodle and her brother Paws then go on a journey to Acorn Island. Together they learn how to process significant challenges such as accepting the loss of a loved one while moving home and becoming part of a blended family.Sarah's birth mother, Mags died when Sarah was 12 weeks old from a severe Asthma attack. When she was four, Sarah then went to live in America with her Dad, Jason to start a new life. He died suddenly in 2015, Sarah was 8 years old and her brother was 10. They moved back to Ireland to live with her aunt and uncle and two cousins. This is when Sarah began reading about other people who have had difficult experiences which helped her so she began to write about her experience through her characters the Fox family and the Bear family. Sarah also lost her Grandmother to Covid 19. Sarah hopes through her books that she can help other children find the courage to be themselves, to process their own challenges to find hope and happiness again like she did. She also feels it will become a tool to assist parents and Guardians to open a conversation with their children. Sarah has been nominated as her Cities person of the year, The Irish National Garda Youth Awards and has been named as one of Irelands most inspirational young women alongside Actress Saoirse Ronan of Little Women. Her book has been recommended by a plethora of professionals and advocates for mental health, Children's support and bereavement groups. She has spoken on the Late Late Show, Fox 8 and a number of Podcasts.
