School feeding is recognised as a critical food security, human capital, and food system intervention. It is the biggest safety net program with 388 million children receiving school meals. There has been an exponential growth over the last decade, 65.4 million children receive school feeding in Africa, an increase from 38.4 million in 2013. School Meals Coalition was established during the 2021 UN Food System Summit, 67 countries have signed the Declaration of Commitment to the School Meals Coalition.
