The Universities of Cambridge and London set papers in Acoustics at their examinations for musical degrees, and a paper in Acoustics also forms part of the Cambridge Middle Class Examinations. The object of the present book is to give, in one volume, a good general view of the subject. Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900's and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive.
