Description

Motor development and learning influence the acquisition of writing skills, which is defined not only as an academic tool, but also as a fundamental instrument for the personal and social growth of individuals. Both aspects are in continuous evolution and linked to the integral development of man, which is why it is important to study them in depth. For this reason, the present descriptive-correlational work was carried out to evaluate the level of motor development and the difficulties in learning to write and to determine the relationship between both variables in a group of 118 children belonging to a primary school in the municipality of San Cristóbal. Interview, observation, survey to teachers, as well as the analysis of the products of the activity were used as research methods. The results showed low levels of motor development and the presence of difficulties in learning to write, as well as the existence of a highly significant correlation between both variables.
