As the coronavirus pandemic gathered momentum, countries across Europe, Asia and North America sealed their borders against outsiders, enhancing the relevance to the theme we had already chosen. The global shutdowns seemed to give many writers a boost in creativity: this year, we received an outstanding crop of entries from 10 countries (Australia, France, Germany, India, Ireland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States).Momaya Press provides a international platform for writers from around the globe. For seventeen years, outstanding tales penned by people of all ages and backgrounds have graced our desks. Each year, our judges spend the summer determining which stories will win. It is never easy. Each voice is unique, special, and appreciated. But in the end, only a handful will make it into the prestigious Momaya Short Story Review.
