The development of technology, information technology, genetic engineering, new ideological movements did not bring humanity any closer to getting rid of conflict. Observations of the destruction of the ecological balance of the planet, of military inventions, of the helplessness of the viral threat lead modern man to search for answers in religious ideas and myth-making, hoping for a miracle. Man begins to be helped by mythology, which can become a means of social orientation of people, as it sets a model for important human actions. Mythology is a special form of collective consciousness, an integral picture of the world, in which elements of scientific, practical, religious, artistic and intuitive knowledge are not separated. Modern mythological concepts become a new historical reality for people living in the reality of a global consumer society. The main conclusions of the work can serve as a basis for the religious studies and philosophic investigation of the problem of modern mythology, as well as for the practical use of religious figures, politicians
