This document is a TEKS / Common Core focused assessment supplement which allows for seamless implementation of Melanin Origins LLC learning materials with the Grade One reader. The TEKS/STAAR objectives assessed herein are:

Readiness Standards Grade One Reading & Grade One Writing:

1.10 Literary Non-fiction Students understand, make inferences and draw conclusions about the varied structural patterns and features of literary nonfiction and respond by providing evidence from text to support their understanding
