It is the author's hope that these books will bring back some nostalgic memories for longtime residents and provide some historical insight for younger people and newcomers to the area. The Keowee Courier was founded in 1849. Sadly, it was closed down shortly before this book was published, with the final issue coming out on March 27, 2019. Thus, it had been in continuous publication for 170 years, except for two or three years during the Civil War.
